The Mining Minute: building a magazine, one useful brief at a time

An image-led magazine, deeper sector coverage and a contributor invitation give The Mining Minute a stronger publishing foundation.
The publication needs to look like a publication
A mining publication needs more than a feed container. Readers should see what it covers, find an interesting lead story and recognise a consistent editorial structure. The Mining Minute now presents a magazine-style front page with subject imagery, a lead feature, sector navigation and supporting articles.
Illustrative mining photography is identified as illustrative. The image used in this update is an open-pit stock photograph credited to Mark Thomas / Pexels, rather than an unverified photograph of a company discussed in a brief.
Build depth before promising scale
The recent core expansion produced twenty-five articles across twelve categories, with at least two in each category. The site also gained core information, a watchlist framework, an industry-perspective section and a Join Us page.
Those are dated release facts. Article counts change as the publication develops; they are not audience figures, a claim about search indexing or a promise of daily investment opportunities. The point is to give readers more than an empty category.
Use one minute to add context
A one-minute brief should tell the reader what happened, why it matters, a useful number where verified and what to watch next. It needs the original source, a truthful date and the correct company, exchange and ticker when relevant.
A short format is not permission to copy someone else’s reporting or remove material qualifications. The daily editorial workflow selects verified developments and writes original summaries. Exploration results, resources, reserves, studies and production remain different stages.
Invite people with knowledge to contribute
The contributor invitation is aimed at writers, broadcasters, industry contributors and people who can help explain mining clearly. Submission is an invitation to editorial review, not a claim that a new contributor has already joined.
The next stage is consistent useful coverage and a stronger grassroots network. The magazine foundation supports that effort; it does not replace editorial judgement, source checking or the work of earning an audience.

About this build update
Are watchlist entries investment recommendations?
No. The publication distinguishes editorial watchlists, verified source information and commercial advertising; it does not promise investment returns.
